ALLY BANK’S TV COMMERCIAL, like the previously run VW AUTO COMMERCIAL, appear to convey a mutaully held “belief” that emotionally/literally harming children sells product

* VW = had their slap the baby in the stroller commercial (last year)
* ALLY BANK – had to change their name (first “heads up”) then emotionally abuse children by projecting their “bait/switch” rules on children —-ah, who wouldn’t TRUST IN THIS BANK ???

bottom line: BOTH COMMERCIALS appear to give “potential” customers INSIGHT INTO HOW EACH WILL BE TREATED ——LOOK/LISTEN PEOPLE !

I wrote to the bank twice complaining about the subtle message of child abuse in the ads and they wrote back stating that no children were abused in the making of the ads – they were actors! So it may be that they are stupid as well as mean.

It must be that the creators of these ads have not had children yet – they just don’t “get it”. They think they’re clever. They have no idea how many people they are turning off with their “cleverness”.

I take it you are a fellow atheist-good for you! I grew up a religious Protestant, and now I consider religion a scam.

But I dont think you can compare these horrid commercials to telling your kids about the Easter Bunny, tooth fairy, etc. Liitle kids arent adults, and they will soon find out Santa isnt real. BUT THEY ARE KIDS! let them have their fantasy.

If the kids were instead adults who got duped, I think it would be more appropriate. or if the kids were at least teenagers.

But little kids? No! Let them be kids-they have enough time to face reality.

PS, if you have little kids, do you not let the believe in Santa? If not, shame on you!

Ally Bank is AWESOME! for putting out those commercials!! I intend on changing over all my accounts to them. LOL Personally I think they should push the envelope even further with this concept…HILARIOUS!! C’mon people….most commercials realllllly suck ass because they’re so boring and ridiculous, but the Ally commercials ROCK!!

Take those commercials off the air….I can’t stand hurting a child’s feelings like you do…and I can’t understand how you can deal with people, if you don’t already have these feelings…makes me sick and will never deal with a company like yours..

Reading all the above comments by those who think there is nothing wrong in portraying betrayal, lieing, cheating, merely demonstrates the lack strong morales that has been lost in our society, which is why such commercials are popular, and the US is no longer the world economic leader that it had been.

The Ally Bank ads suck. I would not do business with a company that PROMOTES CHILD ABUSE if it was the only bank in town. Who ever wrote those ads should be locked up and who ever has approved those ads at Ally Bank should be publically reprimanded and then FIRED. They are disgusting and promoting mistreating children, teaching children to lie, teaching children to steal, I guess that must be the culture of business of Ally Bank, or at least that is the impression I, and I am sure many others, has gotten from such a poorly conceived ad campaign.
