My husband has been dealing with Ally for his car loan for the last few years, and I would swear that they're deliberately trying to make us pay late fees every month now that he's near the end of his loan. Every month he has to call in an fight with them for an hour just to get a payment made; every month he tells them he wants this to come out automatically, the same day every month; and every single time the payment doesn't come out as scheduled. We've decided to pay the minimum on our other debts so that we can save up and pay off his car in one go just to avoid dealing with this company. They're crooks and have the worst customer service of any company I've ever seen in my life.

I opened an account with them 2 months ago to drop something like 20 dollars a month into. Recently, I couldn't access my account online and the customer service had me call a 'supervisor' to get the problem taken care of. That number is a voicemail and no one's answered it yet. Since I can't get into my account, my five dollars a week keeps getting taken out, but I can't stop the transfers or access my money. I'm going to call my REAL bank and have them block transfers until someone calls me back.

I really appreciated reading these posts because I was about to open an account with Ally after a five year hiatus from banks and their bullshit. I was really gulible and thought this bank which is basically a government bank (look up FED and Bernanke) was differnet and honorable and realized that it is the wolf in sheeps clothing or the third rail ( Don't touch it with a ten foot pole!).

I tried to open an account with $0 in the amount field. Maybe that is why I cannot open an account over the internet. It is funny to note however that all of Ally's ads on the internet show no deposit required to open an account. I have seen the light thanks to these posts and realize now that this bank is no different than my previous experiences with all the other major big banks so I am going to make sure I close any account they try to open in the future. Thank you very much Christine Erika, and Jim you have saved me alot of money and frustration.

I have had bank accounts with Bank of the west, Bank of America, Eldorado Savings, and Wells Fargo. Each one was very professional for 1-5 years and then would bend me over and rape me royally causing me to close my accounts due to immoral fees. I have tried to open an account twice now and each time they say they must manually review my application and will contact me in 2-3 days. Five days later and nobody called and nothing in the mail. I guess I did not make the cut! Oh well, back to keeping my dough stuffed under the mattress!

thanks I found this site before I opened an account with Ally Bank. It's best to search about the background of any business you would deal with or entrust your money with.

At the heart of the success or failure of any organization is the IT Department. In the case of Ally it is a failure. Having spent many years in IT development the Ally website reveals very poor management of the IT department. It is obvious from my attempts to login to my account that the most elementary tasks of logging in to the site have not been tested properly.

After entering personal information and receiving a message that says I “The username and password combination is invalid” I have to question just how much testing was done to programs that drive the website. If your account information cannot be found with the information from your paper bill then Ally bank has big information management problems.

If an organization cannot manage the very basic login task it scares me that they are able to do more complex accounting and management of a account.

Being the case I will never purchase a car again that uses ALLY bank financing.

Why? They didn't exploit children at all (well I guess it depends on how you define "exploit"). They were trying to show how other banks act through deception. Nothing really that cruel about that. They tell the kids they're gonna get something and then don't give it to them FOR THE SAKE OF THE COMMERCIAL! Do you really think the children were scarred or went home unhappy because of it. And come on, you know the children were compensated in some form (probably $$$). As for the dumb and boring part, that is your opinion. Sad? NO! And yes you could do the same with adults but you would get an entirely different feel. It wouldn't be as memorable (and trust me they want you to remember their commercials), clever, or as original.
